Setup Redmine

Redmine is an open source project management system. It’s has lots of features and is used by numerous companies and groups. It’s not very hard to setup but the documentation of this process is lacking in some areas.

This is the way I installed it on Ubuntu 10.04. The guide may contain errors or even security weaknesses and I do not take any responsibility for how this it’s is being used. If you find any problems or if you have any suggestions for how it can be improved please comment and I will update the guide.

Start by installing the packages

sudo apt-get install mysql-server apache2 libapache2-mod-passenger

sudo apt-get install redmine redmine-mysql

Symlink Redmine

sudo ln -s /usr/share/redmine /var/www/redmine
