Dokan – FUSE for Windows

FUSE, a library for creating custom filesystems in userspace has been around for a few years. First implemented in linux, then ported to FreeBSD and Mac OSX (MacFuse). Until previously I had never heard about any Windows version – but this week I discovered one. It’s written by a japanese guy and it’s called “Dokan”.  According to the author Dokan means ‘cray pipe’ in Japanese.

One Response to Dokan – FUSE for Windows

  1. emayevski says:

Dokan is long dead. There exist several attempts to resurrect it, however all people trying to do this lack knowledge of kernel-mode programming, and Dokan itself has flawed design which requires severe rewriting.
